Abstract

891,733. Spring clip fastenings; securing studs and screw sockets. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. May 11, 1960 [May 11, 1959], No. 16071/59. Classes 44 and 89(1). A resilient sheet-metal socket for securing a rigid stud 1 in an opening 3 in a support 2 comprises an annular base 4 having resilient tongues 5 which grip the stud and resilient finger 6 having outwardly curved free ends 7 which engage the wall of the opening 3. The stud 1 may be dimensioned to engage the inside surface of the fingers 6 and expand them, and may have a plain or screwed bore to receive e.g. a furniture glide or castor.
