889,579. Stud and socket fasteners; clamps. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. April 13, 1960 [April 15, 1959], No. 13276/60. Classes 44 and 89(1). [Also in- Group XXXVI] A clip for securing members 18 to a support 38 comprises an arm 12 having a helical aperture 20 therein, a second arm 14 connected to the arm 12 by a radiused portion 16 having apertures 15 for, the members 18, the arm 14 having resilient projections 32, 34 which when inserted in an aperture in the support expand and grip the underside of the support. A screw 24 is screwed into the aperture 20 and engages an aperture 26 (Fig. 3 not shown) in the projections 32, 34, thus clamping the members 18 on the support. The ends of the arms 12, 14, are serrated, the latter being bent upwardly towards the arm 12 to provide a seating for the members 18. In a modification, a member 18 may be secured to the support by passing it through the portion 16 at right angles to the apertures 15. The serrations on arms 12, 14 may be omitted.
