Abstract

935,477. Compressors. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. July 12, 1962 [July 12, 1961], No. 26883/62. Addition to 908,828. Class 8(1). In a motor driven compressor as claimed in the parent Specification wherein reciprocation of piston 3 within its cylinder 2 is effected by a connecting rod 10 pivoted to the cranked end 13 of the motor shaft 14, the plane in which the movement of rod 10 occurs being displaced from the axis of the piston 3 and being normal to the axis of the shaft 14, the connection between the piston and the rod 10 is effected by a body of resilient material e.g., a strip of spring steel 31 having its ends let into cavities 32, 33 in the piston 3 and rod 10 respectively. In a modification the connection is effected by a block of oil resistant rubber. The piston draws through a port 4 arid discharges past a valve in the cylinder head 5 into a silencing chamber 6.
