A bed-settee comprises a seat 30 pivoted to the forward end of a stand 1 and a spring mattress frame comprising four elements 3, 4, 5, 6 hinged together so that the element at the bed head can pivot about a horizontal axis 7 at the rearward end of the stand 1 to form a support for the back of the settee while the other elements 4, 5, 6 are folded in a U-shape beneath the seat. A member 25 is pivoted to the element 3 so that it can form a head board in the position illustrated or be rotated about a pivot 26 to form the back of the settee. In the settee position the legs 24 on the seat 30 are tucked behind the back 25.
