Abstract

928,061. Oil burners. GLOW-WORM BOILERS Ltd. Nov. 27, 1961 [Jan. 14, 1961], No. 1631/61. Classes 75 (1) and 75 (3). An oil burner comprises a plurality of perforated concentric combustion chambers 18, 19 and 20, connected at intervals by radially disposed fuel ducts 14 and flash-over ducts. The latter are either tubes 23 disposed near the bottom of the combustion chambers or saddleshaped members fitting on the tops of bridge pieces 15 covering the fuel ducts 14. These duets 14 extend from a centre bowl 12 and are formed in a bottom member 10 having concentric circular wick holding channels 11. Fuel is fed to the outer wick channel through a connection block 28. A pilot tube 27 containing a pilot wick 32 is mounted with clearance in the block 28. The combustion chamber walls 17 are held on ledges 16 at the tops of the channels 11 by bolts 34 extending between the bottom member 10 and a cover plate 33.
