[Also in Groups XXX and XXXI] A mobile ladder assembly for fruit picking purposes comprises a telescopic frame 17, 22 carrying a series of booms 39 consisting of a lazy tong construction 41, 43 or telescopic sections (see Figs. 11 and 12, not shown). Each boom is mounted for independent rotary movement on a turn-table 29 and for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis respectively by means of a reversible electric motor 38 and tilting arms 45 actuated by hydraulic cylinders 61 (see also Fig. 10, not shown). Each boom is reciprocated by an hydraulic jack 54 and carries a platform 63 which may be freely pivoted thereon or relatively positioned by an hydraulic jack 66. Each boom is also provided with an endless conveyer (see Group XXX), which discharges into hoppers 93, 94 leading by way of a conveyer 96 to a grading table 97.
