An alloy for service at elevated temperatures as in rockets, missiles and gas turbines contains in percentage by weight:- .Nb..not less than 45 .W..6-50 .Zr.(not less than 0.25 when Ti is. ..less than 1).0-15 .Ti.(not less than 1 when Zr is less. ..than 0.25).0-20 .Mo.not more than 7.0-5 .V.not more than 7.0-5 .Fe.not more than 10.0-5 .Ni.not more than 10.0-5 .Co.not more than 10.0-5 .Hf..0-10 .Ta..0-5 .Ba..0-1 .Yt..0-1 .Be..0-1 .R.E...0-1 .C..0-1 .O.not more than 1.5.0-0.75 .N.not more than 1.5.0-0.5 The alloys may be made by consumable or non-consumable arc melting, or by powder metallurgical methods.
