A fluid-control valve comprises a housing having a valve chamber P which communicates with inlet, outlet and exhaust ports a, h, c, respectively, and is separated by a flexible diaphragm 2 from an actuating chamber g which also communicates, e.g. through passage d and conical chamber f, with the outlet port h, a valve member 3 carried by the diaphragm for displacement in the chamber between a first seat i against which the valve member is urged by the inlet pressure to establish communication between the outlet and exhaust ports h, c and isolate the inlet port a, and a second seat j to establish communication between the inlet and outlet ports a, h and isolate the exhaust port c whereby fluid pressure can be built up in the actuating chamber g to urge the valve member against the second seat j, and a push-rod 16, 19 which is actuable in one directo engage the diaphragm and initiate displacement of the valve member from the first seat i and to operate an auxiliary valve k to close a vent e from the actuating chamber and in the opposite direction to open the vent whereby the balance of pressures on the diaphragm is reversed to return the valve member to its first seat. The push-rod 16 may be actuated in any manner, e.g. through a pivoted member 15 which may constitute the armature of an actuating electromagnet. The exhaust port c is covered by an elastic check valve 9. Diaphragm 2 is of rubber vulcanized round a metal plug 1 carrying a sleeve 6 on to which the rubber valve member 3 is also vulcanized.
