924,330. Generating combustion products under pressure. MINISTER OF SUPPLY. March 22, 1955 [March 30, 1954], No. 9336/54. Class 51 (1). [Also in Group XXVI] In the combustion chamber of an aircraft gas turbine or ram jet engine, the fuel injector is adapted to direct a supply of oxygen into the combustion chamber. As shown, Fig. 1, the flame tube 2 is supported inside the combustion chamber 1 by the arms 3b and 3c. The nozzle 4 is supplied with fuel through 3b and oxygen through 3c. The nozzle body 11 has a vortex chamber 11a with tangential inlets connected by drillings to 3b. Oxygen is led through drillings and slots 14, 15, 16 to the annular passage 17. Air from the main supply to the flame tube passes along the apertures 13 into 17 and is deflected across the face of the nozzle by the casing 12 tending to reduce the deposition of unburnt carbon.
