Abstract

Sodium perborate tetrahydrate which is dust-free and has a reduced bulk density, is prepared by melting sodium perborate tetrahydrate and cooling it by dropping it into water, an aqueous solution of sodium perborate or an organic liquid, or by mixing the melted sodium perborate tetrahydrate with unmelted sodium perborate tetrahydrate and cooling the mass in a current of air, or by partially melting sodium perborate tetrahydrate with stirring and cooling it in a current of air. The product may be sprayed with water or a suspension of magnesium silicate in water. Examples are given.
