Abstract
A brittle Raney silver alloy containing in percentage by weight: .Al.15-60 .Ag.40-85 is obtained by rapidly chilling the alloy from the molten state, preferably about 750 DEG C., to a temperature below 100 DEG C., as by dipping the crucible into water or by pouring the melt directly into water. In the latter case globules are formed. Specification 907,907 is referred to.
