Abstract

922,680. Fixing handles to hammers &c. C. ARLIDGE. July 14, 1961 [Feb. 17, 1960], No. 5852/61. Class 61. A handle fitted in the head of a hammer, hatchet, mallet, &c. is further secured by a rivet, screw or bolt which passes through a hole in the head and through the handle. A countersink is made at each end of the hole, the rivet &c. having a bevelled head which fits into the countersink at one end of the hole so that a level and smooth surface is obtained, the other end of the rivet being pressed or hammered into the countersink at the other side of the head.
