[Also in Group XXXII] In a spindle for textile spinning and doubling frames, the blade 4 is mounted in bearings at least one, 9, of which co-operates with a radially acting damping member 11 which is in the form of a closed container of flexible material which encloses one or more damping media, and which is inserted between the bearing 9 and the surrounding housing 2. The damping medium may be liquid which may be under pressure and a spiral spring, a resilient porous body, or elastic webs 17, Fig. 7, may also be included to have a centring effect on the spindle. The container may also have an internal, perforated partition or partitions which have a dashpot effect. In a further modification, the container has resilient lugs 18, Fig. 8, to restore the spindle blade to its mid-position.
