Abstract

952,177. Bearings. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. April 26, 1960 [May 6 1959], No. 14647/60. Heading F2A. [Also in Division D1] A mounting for spinning &c. spindles comprises a collar-bearing 5, a footstep 7, a flexible damping-member 10, and an insert 8 supported by means allowing it to swing relatively to a housing 3, means being also provided to load the insert longitudinally against the support means. The insert is tiltably supported by a flange 8<SP>1</SP> on a head 4 carrying the collar-bearing, a deformable ring 9 being interposed. To load the sleeve axially, the damping-means rests on lugs 11 and a sleeve 12 is placed between it and the head 4. The member 10 comprises a helical plate-spring, the coils of which in the unstressed condition can be level or project one above the other. In another form, Fig. 3, not shown, the insert is loaded by a separate spring between the flange 8<SP>1</SP> and a shoulder of the head 4.
