Abstract
747,383. Textile twisting spindles. SOC. D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHES DE MATERIAL TEXTILES (SERMATEX). Feb. 15, 1954 [Feb. 18, 1953], No. 4374/54. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3). A yarn support mounting for use on a textile spindle has resilient means interposed between the yarn support and the carrier element upon which the support is removably mounted, the carrier element being supported on the shaft of the spindle so as not to rotate with it, the resilient means being arranged so as to maintain a suitable radial spacing between the yarn support and the carrier element and to be interposed between abutments which fix the axial position of the yarn support on the carrier. As shown, the invention is applied to a double twist spindle. The resilient ring 12 serves to maintain the desired radial spacing between the yarn support or bobbin 1 and the carrier 9 and the ring 11 serves both as a radial spacing element and as an axial abutment. The ring 11 has an annular groove in which is engaged a ridge 13 integral with the bobbin 1 and when the bobbin is in position on the carrier 9 the ring 11 abuts a shoulder 14 on the carrier element. In a second embodiment, in order to mount bobbins having different internal diameters on the same spindle, interchangeable fitting members are provided for engagement between the resilient members on the carrier element and the internal surface of the yarn support. Also in this second embodiment the flanges of the bobbin are separate from the central portion and are retained thereon either by a screwed connection or by a spring ring.
