Abstract

859,821. Rectilinear motion bearings. JOHANSSONS PRESS- & HEJARVERKTYG A.B. April 21, 1959 [April 28, 1958], No. 13567/59. Class 12(1). A slide 2 is supported for rectilinear-motion with respect to a member 1 by balls 3 located between grooves in opposed faces of the members 1, 2 and seals 5 are provided at the ends of each group of balls 3. Each seal 5 is attached to the end of a cage 4 by means of a bracket 6, Fig. 3, welded to the cage 4 and having a screwthreaded hole therein which receives a screw 8 carrying the seal 5 and a washer 7. In a modification, the bracket 6 is replaced by a bracket 15, Fig. 5, having slots 16, 17 which receive a cage 11 and sealing-strips 14 which engage grooves 13 in the opposing members. In a further modification, a bracket 27, Fig. 6, is attached to each end of a pair of sealing strips 23.
