A train pipe hose coupling 2 connectible at one end to a 3 inch train pipe hose 1 and at the other end to a 2 inch train pipe hose coupling 8 has an axially extending, converging bore 7 which may be curved or of frusto-conical form; the cone angle is in the range 12 to 19 degrees, but preferably is 14 degrees.
