In pipe coupling including a sealing ring c, Fig. 2, a nut d, and a body part a, the action of threading the nut d upon the body part a causes a tapered portion g of the latter to force the leading edge of the ring c to cut into the pipe b, the leading edge having an angle A, Fig. 3, of between 105-135 degrees with respect to the pipe axis.
