Abstract
921,584. Aerials. SIRAH Ltd. Oct. 12, 1961 [July 12, 1960], No. 24253/60. Class 40 (7). A radio aerial structure for a vehicle comprises an outer conductive member 10 adapted to be supported on the vehicle (Fig. 1, not shown), an inner member 20 forming an active aerial element or engaging with an active aerial element (Fig. 4, not shown), a flexible electric cable 22 connected to said inner member 20 and a body of insulating material 21, 23, 27 moulded in situ between said members 10, 20 and about the end of the conductor 22. As shown, the centre core 24 of a coaxial cable 22 fits in an aperture in a plug which screws into the element 20, the cable screen 26 being connected to the member 10. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown), the centre core of the cable is connected to a sleeve in which the aerial element slides. The aerial may be telescopic and when folded may fit either above (Fig. 1) or below (Fig. 4, not shown) the part of the vehicle on which it is mounted.
