Class 40(7) [Also in Group XXV] The invention relates to the provision of an additional director or reflector in an aerial assembly and in particular to mounting means for such an additional element. In one construction (Fig. 4) the original assembly may consist of a support tube 1 terminating in a clamp socket 2 into which the plug-like arm 5 of the insulating junction box 6 of the dipole aerial 8 may be secured. According to the invention in order to provide support for a parasitic element consisting of the conductive tubes 19 an extension arm 9 is provided constructed so as to fit into the clamp socket 2 at one end and having an identical clamp socket 10 at the other for the reception of the plug-like part 5 of the dipole junction-box 6. Preferably the part of the extension arm cooperating with the socket 2 consists of a short length of smaller diameter tube 13 extending from, and a force fit in, the end of the tube. Lateral plugs 14 with tapered and screw-threaded inner ends engage tapped diametrical holes 15 in the walls of tubes 9 and 13. The outer ends of the plugs are split and have tapped holes 17 in the plane of the split. When the tubes 19 are placed over these plugs taper-headed screws may be tightened in the holes 17 (access being through holes 20) to expand the split end of the plug to rigidly secure the tubes in position.
