A stop-joint or terminal for high-tension fluid-filled single-core electric cables comprises a metal socket to which a cable conductor or, as in the joint shown, two cable conductors 3 is or are connected, surrounded by a metal ring 8 which is embedded in a sleeve 9 of synthetic resin having near one end an external flange 17 borne upon by two asymmetrical portions of a casing 13 whereby the casing joint is located away from the socket 1 in a zone of lower electrical stress.
