Abstract
917,391. Foam-producing apparatus. PYRENE CO. Ltd. Sept. 25, 1959 [June 25, 1958], No. 20425/58. Class 14 (1). [Also in Group XXIX] A foam generator and distributer comprises a frame of four bars 3 receiving a jet 5, a foam tube 7 and a foam improving and foam-spreading assembly 8. The latter consists of spaced annular gauze portions 16, 17, 21 and a washer 11. The gauze 21 is backed by a centrally apertured metal plate 22. In operation, a supply of water containing foam-stabilizing compound is fed to a pipe 23 and emerges as a jet from an orifice 6 and draws air through the side openings of the frame. The foam passes through the tube 7 and is deflected and spread laterally by the assembly 8. In the modification of Fig. 4, the tube 7 surrounds concentric cylinders 24, 25, and the foam spreading assembly comprises gauze portions 29, 30 and 32, the latter backed by a disc 34.
