Abstract

901,678. Moistening air. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. Aug. 25, 1960 [Aug. 31, 1959], No. 29385/60. Class 55 (2). Air to be moistened is drawn through a rectangular casing 1 and sprayed with water from rows of spray nozzles 4, the air having passed through a distributer 9 which extends across the casing and provides jets of air issuing from nozzles 10 arranged so that the jets intersect at points behind the rows of spray nozzles and intermediate the jets of air, rotating streams issuing from tangential slots in the arcuate portions 11 of the distributer and into which the water from the nozzles 4 is sprayed. Slots are also arranged adjacent the side walls of the casing to prevent water collecting thereon and below the distributer there is a sloping perforated wall 18 to prevent water collecting on the bottom of the casing.
