Abstract
962,984. Cooling towers. C. G. MUNTERS. July 4, 1960 [July 6, 1959], No. 23254/60. Heading F4K. [Also in Division B1] The packing comprising alternate plain and corrugated sheets 14 and 16, e.g. of paper, cellulose or asbestos, of a cooling tower is wetted by jets of water 28 from a supply duct 26 rotatably mounted above the packing and provided with a screen 36 which covers that portion of the packing which has just been sprayed with liquid and prevents for a short time the upward flow of air through the passages thereof, the jets 28 serving to rotate the supply duct. Specifications 837,601 and 950,448 are referred to.
