Abstract
An article is heated, coated with a polyolefine, and while at least the outer surface of the polyolefine is in a fluid state as a result of residual or further heat further coated with a polyamide. Both coatings may be applied by dipping the article in a bed of particles which may be fluidized. The polyolefine may be polyethylene or a mixture thereof with polypropylene and polyisobutylene; the polyamide may be polycaprolactam. Examples are given of coating a pump cylinder, and wheels. The articles may be of iron or steel.
