Abstract

916,419. Securing rollers on shafts. MASCHINENFABRIK WINKLER, FALLERT & CO. A.G. Jan. 13, 1961 [Jan. 25, 1960], No. 1490/61. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XVI] A cylinder 2, e.g. a roll core, is mounted on a spindle 1 by a clamping cone 4 engaging each end of the cylinder. The cone 4 has a pin 13, engaging a key-way 11 and is locked in adjusted position by a nut 10 threaded on a ring 9 having a double tapered bore, such that the ring can tilt relatively to the spindle axis when the nut 10 is screwed into engagement with a ball 6, thereby clamping the ring 8 by frictional engagement with the spindle 1. In a modification, the ring 8 may be curved instead of tapered.
