Abstract
916,181. Concrete mixers. LINER CONCRETE MACHINERY CO. Ltd. Sept. 4, 1961 [Sept. 27, 1960; July 1, 1961], Nos. 33100/60 and 23847/61. Class 86. In a rotary tilting drum concrete mixer the drum 12 is directly driven by an hydraulic motor, the casing 14 of the motor secured to the inside of the drum 12, and its shaft 16 fixed in the tilting yoke 17. Pressure fluid is supplied to the motor through the flexible connections 25 and hollow shaft 16 from hydraulic means or from a pump or pumps 21 mounted, together with the driving engine 22, supply tank 23 and control valve 24, on the wheeled or fixed mixer carriage 11; or on a selfpropelled vehicle. The drum 12 is tilted over top dead-centre to effect discharge, which may be assisted by the mixing blades 20, the hydraulic motor being reversible ; the motor speed may also be varied at will by the control valve. The drum is loaded by a skip 19. In a modification (see Fig. 3, not shown) the casing of the hydraulic motor is attached to the yoke 17, and its shaft 16 is rotatable and is secured to the drum. A flexible coupling may be inserted in the drum drive.
