Abstract

1,048,964. Mixing-apparatus. R. BAUER. Feb. 21, 1964 [Feb. 21, 1963; Dec. 24, 1963], No. 7277/64. Heading B1C. A mixer 10 comprising a tubular drum 17 housing a drive shaft carrying mixing blades (not shown) for preparing fertilisers or liquid manure can be attached to the lifting mechanism of a tracton and is provided with gearing whereby it can be driven by the power take-off of the tractor. In one embodiment (Fig. 1) drive from the tractor power take-off 26 to the mixer drive shaft 29 takes place by means of universal joints 36, 37 and a telescopic shaft 28. In a further embodiment (Fig. 3 not shown) the mixer is driven from the tractor driving motor by a belt and pulley arrangement coupled with mitre wheel gearing at the drive end of the mixer shaft. The highest mixing position is shown at 17<SP>1</SP>, and the mixer is transported with the drum in the position 1711.
