Abstract

A self-propelled concrete-carrying vehicle has a rotatable mixing drum driven by a hydraulic motor for which the pressure fluid is provided by a pump driven by an engine other than the vehicle engine. The speed and direction of rotation of the drum may be controlled by a control valve or by employing a variable output hydraulic pump, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown); the speed of rotation may also be controlled by the throttle of the auxiliary engine.
