914,310. Flue dampers. RUSTON, A. E. March 25, 1959 [Jan. 21, 1959], No. 2181/59. Class 126. A flue damper device for insertion in the chimney of a domestic fireplace above the fireplace throat comprises a flat rectangular metal frame 1 defining an opening corresponding approximately to the flue opening F and including an extension 2 to be held between two courses of brickwork of the chimney to support the device, a damper plate 3 being secured on a spindle 4 mounted near the back or front of the frame and extending beyond the extension 2 where it carries a control lever 7 for setting the angle of opening of the plate 3.
