Abstract

914,302. Carding-engine condenser arrangements. REDSHAW & CO. Ltd. Aug. 18, 1961 [Aug. 19, 1960], No. 28746/60. Class 120 (1). A carding machine condenser is provided with rotatable bobbin carriers on each of which may be mounted a bobbin in a winding- on position and also an empty bobbin that will be brought into winding - on position when partial rotation of the carrier is initiated by timing mechanism. The carriers may be formed as two five-edged plates 44 mounted on a shaft, the plates having on their edges hooked strips 46 and stop or retaining strips 48. A bobbin held in the hooks of strips 46 and in contact with a winding- on roller 18 rides up the edges of plates 44 until a timing gear driven from a winding-on roller shaft brings about rotation of the plates 44 to locate a reserve bobbin 52 at the winding-on position.
