Abstract
912,403. Lubricating. SYNTRON CO. June 26, 1959, No. 22037/59. Class 12 (3). [Also in Group XXVI] The tail-bearing 10 for the propeller shaft 16 of a ship is lubricated by pumping clean sea water or fresh water into a chamber 15 through an opening 13 to flow outwardly through the bearing to the sea, until the wear in the bearing becomes excessive, the water may be fed from a chamber 26 supplied with sealing water (Group XXVI), the latter water also flowing outwardly to the sea.
