Abstract

912,335. Cooling reactors. ROMER, H. March 20, 1959, No. 9748/59. Class 39 (4). In a heavy-water cooled nuclear reactor, the water which leaks from the reactor pressure vessel is collected by a surrounding gaseous atmosphere inside a chamber surrounding the reactor. The gas is circulated into and out of the chamber and a water extraction plant at the chamber gas outlet removes the water from the gas and returns it to the reactor coolant circuit.
