Abstract
912,208. Nuclear power plant. DE HAVILLAND ENGINE CO. Ltd. March 14, 1960 [March 17, 1959], No. 9247/59. Class 39 (4). In a nuclear reactor power plant, the steam generating heat exchangers and the reactor are mounted together inside a pressure vessel. As shown, the pressure vessel 2 encloses both the reactor 1 and the heat-exchangers 5. Coolant gas is circulated through the core by motor-driven fan 10 from chamber 7, through pipes 9, 8 and into the annular chamber containing the exchanger tubing in which steam is generated. The coolant gas may be helium, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, neon or argon.
