Class 64(3) [Also in Groups XXVI and XXVII] The gas passing between two stages of a turbine is heated in a heat exchanger 120 consisting of an outer circular casing 145 having openings 133, 134 for the supply and discharge of the heating fluid, the gas to be heated flowing through a tubular passage 119 having a helical flange 146 to provide a large heat transfer surface. In a modification, Fig. 15 (not shown), the working fluid passes through helical tubular coils provided with a series of circular fins. Specifica- .tions 870,268 and 870,270 are referred to.
