823,429. Nuclear reactors. PAROLLE ELECTRICAL PLANT CO. Ltd. Nov. 1, 1957 [Nov. 27, 1956], No. 36261/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(4). In a nuclear power turbine generator plant, the reactor coolant flow and the positioning of the control rods are automatically controlled. Cooling fluid is circulated through the reactor and a heat exchanger where the turbine working fluid is heated. The reactor control rods are positioned in accordance with the temperature of the nuclear fuel by means of thermocouples associated with the fuel cans or alternatively the control may be exercised in accordance with the outlet temperature of the reactor coolant, before entry to the heat exchanger. The coolant pumps are controlled in response to pressure charges in the turbine working fluid at the turbine inlet or in response to the generator output.
