[Also in Group V] The stem of a valve for use with inflatable articles such as pneumatic car tubes has an externally screw-threaded portion 1 and a butt portion having a recess 2 and an enlargement 3 for anchoring it to a moulded rubber base 4. An enlarged part 5 having a frustoconical seating 6 is provided to engage a seating in the mould to prevent rubber from contacting the threads 1 during moulding.
