Abstract

879,571. Tyre valves. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd. Feb. 19, 1958 [March 2, 1957], No. 7010/57. Class 135. The rubber valve base 111 to which the valve stem 10 of a pneumatic tyre inflation valve is vulcanized is formed with an annular ridge 112 on its face remote from the inner tube 12 so that during the moulding operation in attaching the base to the inner tube, a rubber patch 14 (synthetic or natural) securing the inner tube reinforcement 13 of weak weft nylon cord fabric to the base, is prevented from extruding into the space between the valve stem 10 and the mould 15.
