Abstract
910,267. Valves. BRITISH THERMOSTAT CO. Ltd. March 28, 1960 [March 26, 1959], No. 10610/59. Class 135. A hollow manually-operable cock 1 has a seat 5 for a thermally-actuated valve 2. The cock is divided by a centre partition 4 whereby all of the fluid passes through the valve 2; the partition may be apertured and flow therethrough is controlled by a sliding valve also actuated by the thermal element 11. The seat 5 may be formed at the centre of the cock. In each case the valve 2 is loaded by a spring 7 in a removable cap 8. The manual means for rotating the cock contains the thermal capsule 11 and capillary tube 10 which thereby rotate with the manual means; the capsule is of a double bellows construction and the rod 3 operating the valve 2 passes through the inner bellows 12. An externally adjustable range spring 13 loads the capsule. Specification 884,512 is referred to.
