812,389. Thermally-actuated valves. SPIRAX-SARCO Ltd. June 3, 1957 [June 2, 1956], No. 17103/56. Class 135. In a thermostatic valveactuating device having a valve actuating rod 10 projecting at one end from within a cylindrical casing 1 and displaceable axially by a diaphragm or bellows 7 surrounded by thermal fluid, an auxiliary rod 14 is coaxial with rod 10 within the casing and connected to a knob 3a adjustable on the casing whereby axial movement of rod 14 limits inward movement of rod 10. As knob 3a screws on the casing, stud 23, axially fixed but rotatable in the knob and connected to rod 14 by a pin 26 slidably engaging casing slots 25, axially moves rod 14 to set rod 10 through an abutment at 18 which also limits downward movement of rod 10. A bulb and capilliary tube is connected at 5.
