908,540. Differential control; linkwork. SCHLEPPERWERK NORDHAUSEN VEB. Sept. 29, 1960, No. 33439/60. Classes 80 (2) and 80 (3). [Also in Groups XXVII and XXXI] A pedal-operated control for a motor vehicle comprises a first arm rigid with a second arm and operating a lever actuating a differential lock, accelerator or the like, the arms being movable from one end position through or into a dead centre position and into a second end position, means being provided for returning the arms from the second to the first position. In one form, an arm 1, Fig. 1, is fast with a second arm 2 and with a lever 3 and is turned about its pivot 4 in order that the end of the third lever may slide over a cam surface 9 on a lever 8 thereby turned against the bias of a spring 10 so that a lever 6 engages a positive differential lock 7. The lever 3 has now moved to an over-centre position, and the differential lock remains engaged. To disengage the differential lock, the lever 2 is depressed. As modifications, the end of the arm 3 may carry a roller engaging the cam surface 9, or the arm 1 may be connected to the lever 6 through a toggle linkage. In another form, Fig. 2 (not shown), the control actuates a carburetter throttle, and return from the over-centre position is effected through a connection with the vehicle clutch or brake pedal.
