Abstract

837,133. Controlling vehicles. RADAR BRAKE CONTROL CORPORATION. Aug. 23, 1957, No. 26670/57. Class 79(5) [Also in Group XL(c)] Radar equipment carried by a motor car is used to actuate a solenoid 34 (see Group XL(c)) when collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead is possible; contact 63 closes and electric motor 70. causes via linkage 94 the application of hydraulic brakes and the throttling of the engine to idling speed, Figs. 5 and 6 (neither shown). By means of switch 84 the automatic braking &c. system is cut out when accelerator pedal 115 is fully depressed. A hydraulic motor system may be used to control the brakes and throttle on actuation of the solenoid, Fig. 8 (not shown).
