In a moving-coil loudspeaker the diaphragm-supporting chassis 6 is secured to the internally-rebated rim 5 of the cupped yoke 3 by the soft iron pole plate 4 which engages the rebate, the perimeter of the plate 4 being jolted or upset over the rim of the chassis 6 resting on the rim so as to nip the chassis between the yoke and the plate. The jolting may be effected at spaced intervals or may be continuous, the provision of an interrupted or continuous groove 7 near the periphery of the plate 4 facilitating the jolting process.
