Classes 7(2) and 7(6) In an engine having overhead valves 5, Fig. 1, positively actuated by rocker arms 21 and pushrods 16 from a camshaft 9 located in crankcase 2, the push rods are under the effect of valve springs 30 accommodated within the crankcase. An annular plate 32 stamped or pressed from sheet metal, forms a spring abutment and is detachably secured to the crankcase. A tubular push-rod cover 20 extends between the crankcase 2 and the cylinder head.
