Abstract

902,126. Pumping volatile liquids; compressors. CONCH INTERNATIONAL METHANE Ltd. Feb. 28, 1961, No. 7285/61. Classes 8(1) and 102(2). Liquid or vapour is drawn from a tank 2 through risers 1, 5 controlled by valves 4, 6 into a separator 3 the vapour passing to a line 9. When liquid is being raised i.e. with valve 6 closed, liquid is pumped by a pump 12 to an outlet after a valve 11 is opened. The vapour in line 9 may pass in heat exchange with the cold liquid from the pump 12 to a further separator 15, the liquid portion being returned to the tank 2. On a tanker the vapour delivered to line 9 may be used to supply the engines or boiler. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 869,080.
