A feed-table for slivers supplied to preparatory spinning machines, such as include drafting arrangements, comprises a lateral downwardly inclined surface portion 4 and guides 9 for individually laying slivers in juxtaposed positions on the surface portion 4. The angle of inclination of the portion 4 with respect to the horizontal is preferably between 5 degrees and 20 degrees. Each sliver is supported by the sliver next below it and the slivers move together and cohere.
