Abstract
897,610. Rectifiers. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. March 2, 1961, No. 7590/61. Class 37. One or more rectifier plates 12 are mounted between resilient insulating members 5, 9 in a cupshaped insulating member 1 fitted open end first into a cup-shaped metal member 7. The stack, including terminals 8, 4, parts of which extend out through the respective insulating members and cups is clamped together by crimping the edges of the suitably dimensioned metal cup over the base of the insulating cup. In the arrangement described, in which cup 1 is of polythene, washers 5, 9 of neoprene, and cap 7 of aluminium, two selenium rectifiers are mounted in series aiding relationship, and a mild steel plate 11 is inserted between terminal 4 and the soft metal counter electrode of one of the rectifiers to spread the pressure load over the latter. An insulating sleeve may be provided about the assembly if desired.
