Class 64(1) In a boiler in which two liquids, e.g. water for central heating and water for draw-off supply, are heated separately, each liquid preheats the other before the latter contacts a surface heated by the burning gases or flue gases of the boiler. Water returning from a central heating system passes to the boiler inlet 19 through an injector 3 in which it entrains some of the water passing from the boiler to the system. It passes through a jacket 18 surrounding draw-off supply chambers 22, 14 and is thus preheated before passing through a pipe 8 to a tapered annular chamber 9 (bearing fins 10 to rotate the combustion gases). The water passes from the directlyheated chamber 9 to the injector 3 and the central heating system. The draw-off supply water passes from an inlet 13 into an annular chamber 22 and through an opening 23 to the chamber 14 where it is heated by the directlyheated wall of the chamber. A thermostat is inserted into the chamber 14 through an aperture 15 and it switches on the oil burner 1 when the water cools. Tnere is also described and depicted diagrammatically in Fig. 1 (not shown), a twin arrangement of two chambers for the separate liquids, each containing an arrangement for preheating the liquid of the other tank and each located at one side of an oil-fired combustion chamber.
