896,819. Lifting jacks acting through cables. BURTONWOOD ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Nov. 10, 1960 [Nov. 11, 1959], No. 38312/59. Class 78 (2). The arrangement of lifting platform of a lorry actuated by an hydraulic jack 7, as described in Specification 776,002, is modified by the free end of the cable 10 on which the jack 7 acts, being attached to a pulley 15. The latter is disposed in the bight of a second cable 16, one end of which is fixed at 17 and the other end of which is connected to the lifting platform. Alternatively, the free end of the cable 16 may be connected to a pulley disposed in the bight of a third cable.
