Abstract

806,461. Lifting slings. MEISEN, H. June 22, 1956 [May 24, 1956], No. 19477/56. Class 78 (4). [Also in Group XXV] A lifting sling comprising wires or ropes 1, Fig. 1, with connecting elements 2, has at each end a shackle 8 formed with lugs 12 providing slots 11 for the looped ends of the individual ropes 1, these ends being engaged by a bolt 7 which is held in position by a disc 14 which engages in a groove 13 in the bolt and is secured by a screw 16. In a modification, Fig. 3, an auxiliary shackle 20 is pivoted on the bolt 7 at one end of the sling, the shackle 20 being of such dimensions that the shackle at the other end can be passed through it. The sling may consist of linked chains 23, Fig. 5, instead of wires or ropes.
